SMU Class of 2018 ED/EA/RD Discussion Thread

We seem to be first - here in the N Dallas area - to get mail from SMU. As a parent, I am thrilled they send snail mail, because it helps me to feel like I know what is going on! I am becoming a big fan!

Anyway, my prospective Mustang received an envelope - normal, regular, white envelope from the Cox School of Business today.

Wish I could open it!

Good luck to all!

My DD finally got her letter today and was accepted. It must have gotten lost in the mail.

Has anyone heard from the Business School about the BBA Scholars/Direct? They said they mailed notices last Monday the 23…but I do not know anyone who has received news yet.

collegeboundhs14 I live in the Seattle Area and got my invitation for the BBA Scholars Program a few days ago. With all of the struggles with mail and the postal service recently, yours could still be on its way!

Collegebound and Katywa,

My S received a BBA Scholars invitation on December 27th. Letter was dated December 24th. North Dallas area. Hope this helps. Good luck!

any stats for those accepted to BBA Scholars?

Did anyone receive a Meadows - Art scholarship? Thanks! :)

collegeboundhs14 here are my stats:

32 ACT
2130 SAT
3.89 UW GPA
11 IB Classes, 4 Honors
3 years of business classes (not sure if that helped with admission to BBA Scholars)
Top 7% of class (500 students)
Lots of extracurriculars: DECA State President (over 11,000 members), Link Crew leader, NHS, FCCLA, part time job, club/school volleyball, lots of volunteering

I received the second century scholarship (20k annually) and the Sewell Merit Scholarship (5k annually from Cox School of Business) if that helps!

I was accepted a little before Christmas.
ACT: 26
UW GPA: 3.8
AP Classes: 6
Top 10%

No scholarship, though. We’ll see about the Hunt Leadership Scholars Program.
