I got an email the other day saying that I was a finalist for the “SMU Student Senate Scholarship”. Does anyone know what the scholarship is and how much money is being offered ?
Thanks.

If you are a current SMU Student than you likely applied and will interview for a 2-5k scholarship. If you are in high school I believe they offer a scholarship for students equal to full tuition (they take your scholarship offer and match the difference) for 4 years. When I was a senior last year they were working out the kinks to try and have it go to books and room and board. I am unsure if they have done this.
SMU Senate scholarship is usually around $1000 (at least the Willis Tate Scholarship is) and is only a one-semester scholarship. It is something you must have applied for and written a short 300 word essay about. Applications are open Fall and Spring. Finalists are interviewed by members of Student Senate. There are several winners.
