So...any Princeton hopefuls get crushed by Stanford?

My letter says that only about 50 got a letter like mine for CAS, so it’s a small proportion of acceptees. Don’t worry!

More like crushed by Duke, since I thought it would significantly easier to get in…neither of which turned out to be true.

I don’t even know what’s going on. :[

Duke shocked everyone this year, but the two people I know who got in are amazing people, and they definitely deserve it. I wouldn’t say the process is completely random or “easy.”

Duke literally took over 12 people from my school this year. All of the ones who got in were very strong students.

Ditto. Gah, I’m scared that I won’t get in anywhere tomorrow (besides Cornell, but whatever). :/

The title of this thread irks me. (Passive voice)

The passive seems appropriate because the emphasis is on the “Princeton hopefuls.”

College admissions are so random at times…

I was accepted into Princeton and Duke, but deferred then rejected from Stanford SCEA, rejected from Dartmouth and MIT, waitlisted at Cornell and Harvard. Don’t worry too much if somewhere like Stanford rejects you.
