So do they not speak English at Dartmouth?

Go to 4:20 in the video and listen to the joke made. Haha just wondering why this stereotype exists.

bumpity bump?

I love 30 Rock, and just about laughed my butt off when Jack said this.

hahah yes but why did he say that? I don’t get it and it’s bugging me!

haha, this is how I interpreted it. Jack is an upper-class elitist snob. Born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and never connected with average Americans. There’s a whole running joke poking fun at Ivy League ‘elitists’ (which is even more funny when you notice that most of the writers are Ivy Alumni), Jack, a die hard Princeton Tiger (and Twig and Plums member- parody of Skull and Bones) makes fun of the black writer and his own priest for going to Harvard, he also pokes fun at Yale, Dartmouth etc. The joke here has NOTHING to do with Dartmouth, but rather the joke is how self-absorbed, entitled and detached from reality Ivy-types like Jack are.

…Or it could just mean people at Dartmouth are too drunk to speak intelligible English. :D
