SO HAPPY! (kind of bragging, but so in disbelief)

Well, today I had nothing better to do so I decided to find out during lunch what my class rank was during lunch. I really wasn't expecting much since I go to a highly competitive school that is basically a college. Anyway I get there thinking I wasn't too high when I find out I was number 14!!! Last I found out (freshmen year) I was number 88 and I was just so freaking excited!! To add on to that, I aced my Calculus and English tests. It was such a great day :).

P.S. Again sorry for the "bragging", but im in such an "OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!" moment right now. I'm sure many of you guys know what I'm talking about :).

Congratulations!

Sorry to tell you..thats not that great

Joking! Congrats!

I wish I was ranked 14th. :( Good job though!

I hope I'm still in the top 10%.

I mean, uh, grats! (The last time you found out was Freshman year? My school doesn't even rank us until 1st semester Junior year.)

lol, wow that's some improvement.
and yes, we know that "omg!!" mood =)
wishes it could happen more often
btw my school is so killer about ranks--they don't give you your rank even if you hold the guidance counselors at gunpoint :) jkjkjkjkjkjkj

Our school decided not to rank starting at the end of last year. Freshman year I was 16/222. Then they thought, "Hey, this makes some people feel bad." So they took away valedictorian and salutatorian as well. Now, instead of high honors and honors, we have "cum laude," "magna cum laude," and "summa cum laude" which only like 5 people each grade get anyway.

My county doesn't rank. Never did.

Good job!!! That's super exciting!

im ranked 154 out of 632, and i go to a public school

congrats! Keep doing whatever you're doing, and you'll probaby continue to slide up the ranking ladder. Who knows; you might end up being Val (or atleast top 5). Again, Congrats!

Thanks you everyone :). I'm so excited! Ah. Now only to get to the top 10 lol. If I don't, it won't be the end of the world. Heck, 14 is just as good :). I hope everyone else is doing well!

That's great! I will find out my ranking in a week or so. Last time it was 44/670, I'm hoping for it to be better. Last year I was only in two weighted classes, this year I'm in 7 (but only 5 may be counted, as it takes a while for cc classes to show up on high school transcripts). I'm expecting my 4.0 UW to remain that way as well.

great job!!! i wonder what my rank is!

when grades and ranks determine your happiness, that is when you know you need to get a life

^i'm sure it's just a temporary thing :]

Ya thank incon1to..... and yes you're right Narcissa, you're right. it is just a temporary thing. I mean I'm really happy about my rank (I mean I made this thread after all), but now I need to continue my work and life :). By saying this I hope no one thinks of me as not being satisfied and start getting yelled at (for I have seen it on other threads) I just can't let my newly found achievement control my life and neglect my everyday responsibilities and my social life. And Jane, I'm sure you have a great rank ;)

^bravo kid

Somebody said that they don't get their rank until their junior year? How about your senior year, when you're getting ready to send off your info to colleges?!

Mine was quite low (20th percentile) so I was surprised, but it was too late to do anything about it anyway!

incogn1to - It's not necessarily the grade and rank, but knowing your hard work paid off that makes you happy.
