So I know what I want to do...

I know what I want to do.

I want to be a Director or Manager for a large non-profit organization focused on smart urban design and/or green building. For example, an Executive Director at www.CNU.org or an Operations Manager at USGBC: U.S. Green Building Council .

So my question is this; what is the best way to get there?

I've narrowed my majors search down to these fields:

Urban Planning

Urban Studies

Communications

Political Science

Human Geography

Sociology

But I'm not sure which one to take. I will double major if I have too. I would probably prefer too. Any ideas?

Well, you will probably need a graduate degree. For your undergrad I would go with urban planning, it seems to be more closesly related to your career goals. Human geography seems like it may make sense too. A non-profit specific business degree may make sense as well. There are masters degrees specific to non-profit management, and I'm not entirely sure what their requirements are, but I'm fairly certain you could fulfill them while completing any of those majors.
