Yes, I do plan on focusing on my studies, and my main reason for going to college is to get an education. However, I'd still like to be able to enjoy my Friday nights. Being 17 until December, I'm a little nervous about the social aspect of my college experience. It seems like everybody else is going to be going to hookah bars and out dancing, and to be honest I'm not cool enough to know where to get a fake (and I don't think I want to). I'm also told that there are pretty much no parties on campus. Am I doomed to sitting in my dorm room alone, or hanging out with boring potheads?

Anybody else about to go through the same thing/went through this already and can relate?

The first thing people are going to ask upon meeting you is how old you are. If you are even one month younger, they will turn around and never talk to you again. You are completely screwed. You probably should just take a year off so you will be as old as everybody else when you start.

Oh, I’m going to turn 18 at the end of my first semester, too! :)

Yeah, that’s the case. Honestly, that’s probably the last thing people are going to care about. It’ll only be an issue if you’re immature.

And if you really want to do hookah, or *shishas/I), you can, provided that you find the right person. Personally, I have gone to some clubs and done hookah and had no problems doing either. Age wasn’t really a problem.
