so i'm thinking of going into business

particularly finance or financial analysis/engineering. Besides the obvious reqs (calculus, stats, econ, accounting, etc) any computer programming involved?

sorry if this question seems sort of weird or random.

Lots and lots of computer programming is involved in Financial Engineering.

Depending on the financial analyst position you get, there may or may not be computer programming involved.

Hi Ominous
what kind of programming, might I ask?

Whatever kind of programming is required.

I looked into a Computational Finance program that used a lot of R programming. It seems to be a popular language to learn, because it is relatively powerful and it is FREE.

In reality, Financial Engineers are people that have deep knowledge of computer science, math and finance/economics.

Once you learn computer science theory, the programming languages really don’t matter too much. You just have to learn the individual nuances of each language.
