So my life just exploded OVER 9000 ((click me))

Since the day I entered this world, I had always wanted to be a doctor. Recently, however, the medical field has started to lose its appeal. So now I need you all to help me find my place in life. You, the CC'ers, seem to know everything.

What should I pursue in terms of academic and career focus?
Here is some info about me and my interests:
-Science, ftw, mainly biology, and in that mainly neuroscience
-I also enjoy debating about philosophical and logical stuff (cliche examples: existence of free will, meaning of life, lol)
-I enjoy math as well. I'm taking multivariable and diffy q at a local college senior year.
-I don't want to be stuck in a monotonous (engineering?) job for the rest of my life: I want to wake up every (okay most) mornings and say, "Oh, I can't wait to go to work today!"
-Hmm, I like (having) money as well: not because I like money, but because I like not worrying about money. I'm wary of becoming a pure scientist or professor because of that. (My mom is a doctor, so I've grown accustomed to a certain lifestyle that is not extravagant, but a comfortable norm to me.)
-I like to have fun as well; not all work.
-I am pretty intelligent, so I really don't want to pursue something that a caveman could do. I want to be intellectually stimulated by my studies and my job.
-Oh, I also picked up Model UN in the past year, won some awards in that, and found that I enjoy debating that kind of stuff too.
-And I like languages. I wish to be at least trilingual and am considering taking Russian courses at a local college senior year in addition to Spanish 4 at my high school.
-Ah, and I love to run. run run run. This summer I will be doing 2.5hrs/5-6days/wk summer conditioning for xc, weight training by myself most days, and also swim team 1.5hrs/5days/wk. So my job doesn't have to be active, but I'd like to have to time to exercise, preferably.

I've been considering neuroscience and recently biomedical engineering for undergrad, and washu's philosophy/neuroscience/psychology major looks supa fly, but what do you all think?

Ummm. You sound just like my son (except he’d never ask here). Science, and a lot of other things as well. Actually, he’s been on the XC team too, but he wasn’t very good and now doesn’t run much. He also likes those philosophical debates and that even became his common app essay topic. So I sure was surprised to see you said PNP at WashU looked interesting. He’s leaning towards that as well. Are you a junior now or going to WashU in the fall?

To answer your question: "So now I need you all to help me find my place in life. "… there’s still plenty of time for that. I’m still trying to figure that out! lol Meanwhile, life holds many promises for you. You’re smart, healthy, balanced. How you describe that dash (the dash between the year you were born and the year you die) may be many things. Keep your options open.

Yes, I am a junior. WashU is just one of the many colleges I’ll most likely apply to this fall. And as to running, I would say I was pretty good (2:12 800m, 5:13 1600m-- both sophomore) before I was injured, but that is a story for another time.

Thank you. I’m glad I still have time to find who I am. This thread has not been completely wasted, :P.
In moving towards finding out though, I hope my fellow CC’ers will help out!

Also, I realize I listed a lot of interests, but the main ones are the first five. Hopefully, that will help you all out in giving advice.
