I'm gonna stay in fornt of the tv and watch a few movies I rented. I'm actually pretty tired, I spent half of my day playing soccer.

Actually The Da Vinci Code won out. Not for any good reason, but it was slightly closer to me when I decided to start reading. It does not seem terribly long, so I might try to fit the Broker in as well before I go back to school.

I might go see memoirs of a geisha tomorrow. are there any other movies that are better, and are romance movies (hah)?

Munich was amazing. I absolutely loved it! Of course, it woudln't qualify as very romantic. Narnia and Harry Potter were good too.

Don't see Memoirs. I read the book and enjoyed it, but the movie, while absorbing, was a big letdown. Somehow when I left the theater I just felt very dissatisfied and depressed. Not how one should feel when there's a happy ending. Oh well, maybe you'll interpret it as bittersweet. I wouldn't have wasted my $ if I had known what it was going to be like. Go see something else instead...how about Casanova, that's romance! Or even Brokeback Mountain, if you dare...

i am so tanked right now that i couldnt even go up my stairs without stumbling......having a party at my house and i am just taking a break from the fun.

is it raining where u guys live?

It's was raining earlier here in Sunny (lol) San Diego.

yeah i just went to a friend's house it was pretty great, its nice to celebrate with someone besides your family for a change..but there was more .. screaming and hugging lolz but now im sorta hyper.. whoo, deep breath. it's great to be high on life.

Google Weather said today was going to rain with thunder and lightning. They lied.

It was pretty sunny.

So I saw the movie, Memoirs of a Geisha. I liked it. It wasn't the BEST movie I've ever seen, but it was ok.

I didn't quite understand the ending, when she says something about geishas and wives. So what exactly happened with her and chairman at the end?

Happily ever after. The end. I think? Wasn't that what Sayuri/Chiyo wanted?

yeah they get together. But it leaves the viewer confused because they are crying. If you think hard, the confusion just becomes disappointment, because you understand why they are crying. The girl wanted him from such a young age, she resolved that she would do anything to get to him. He too loved her from then. But so many years passed. Both gave up on the distant dream. Sayuri grew up, matured. Then, finally, she got what she had wanted since childhood. But it's bittersweet because she had to go through so much to get it, and now she's a completely different person.

so how was everyone's new years party (if they had one)? i went to sleep at 5:00......am, that is. woke up 2 hours ago.

We should have a thread on all the different places kissmekate's name could have come from. I personally, thought it was from some chick flick i saw a long time ago. (love actually, I think?)

i read somewhere that kissmekate is actually spinach.

she was, wasn't she?

Yes, I am Spinach. I got my current username from the Broadway musical.

Isnt it a bit boring staying home for new years??
