So...stereotype these colleges for me! : ) Yale, Brown, Duke...etc

Thanks for the site! I'll definitely check it out. WOOT.

Yale - Easiest Ivy to get into. Just need a couple of forged documents. The gay Ivy
Stanford - Best school the world has ever seen. Even God said so.
Brown - Hippy Ivy. More trust funds than JP Morgan.
Princeton - Eating Clubs galore. Prob the best Ivy for UG's if you include both Prestige and focus.
Cornell - The weakest Ivy. The SUNY Ivy.
Duke - Parties. Smartness. Hoopstars.
UMich - Nice Grad schools. Best public school with an admit rate over 50%.
NW - The school every other Big Ten school wants to play.
CMU - Techies, Techies, Techies. Some would say MIT rejects -- but that's a bit harsh.
WUSTL - The only propaganda machine to ever compete with the Bush administration.
UCB - Best Grad programs in the World.

WHOA Yale=easiest Ivy to get into?

sorry, even with my scant knowledge, but I'd have to disagree with that. ;)
But I'm equally bad at judging sarcasm as I am in college selection, so if it was sarcasm...

I wouldn't say Bourne is biased or anything, heh heh.

Yale: Gay sex and cocaine.

^ you've obviously been reading the Rumpus...

this is so...interesting.

Of course I'm taking everthing with a bucket of salt, but it's interesting to see the most extreme characterizations and see what that brings out in each school. Make that bucket supersized.

Here are a few verses that I remember from an old drinking song that stereotypes some of the Ivys.

Harvard's run by Wellesley

Wellesley's run by Yale

Yale's run by Vasser

Vassers run by Tail

Princeton's for the Pretty Boys

And Fairys go to Penn

But far above Cayuga there's a race of hairy men

( this originated when Vasser and Wellesley were all girls)

Brown - cool kids that are smart
Dartmouth - jocks that are smart
Cornell - partiers that are smart
Harvard - serious people that are smart
Yale - quirkies that are smart
Princeton - republicans that are smart (oximoron?)
Columbia - city dwellers that are smart
UC Berkeley - liberals that are smart
Duke - ultra-conservative white kids that are smart
Northwestern - parka-wearing smarties

and there you have it lol

Darthmouth...jocks?
and Duke...ultraconservative?

Really?
(and hahah to the Princeton one..)

^ Hey, you asked for stereotypes!

Although, I would say it's more like

Dartmouth: smart, laid back kids who like to drink (because there's nothing else TO do)

Duke: lax players. Pre-med. I think people think it's more conservative because it's in the South. They might be right.

yeah - so maybe dartmouth isn't full blown jocks but they are definitely the most athletic / outdoorsy types for the ivies - and i have a couple of friends at duke who come from conservative wealthy backgrounds, went to private schools, and i have heard that the conservativism at duke sometimes turns into racism - eek

Hahah, little_galaxy, it was an honest "oh really?" question ;) I thought that Duke was maybe more jock-y because of the basketball and all of that stuff.

Ack to the possible racism at Duke.

Hey - question: which one (Duke or Dartmouth) parties/drinks more? Thanks!
