Actually, isn't Mudd #1 for selectivity amongst LACs?

Its really hard to say since we are so odd. Due to our very self-selective applicant pool we have a high acceptance percentage when compared to more popular LACs which have triple the applicants. I know we have the highest avg SAT score among LACs, but thats just the type of people we eventually attrack (I assume we scare off the people who are not sure they are up to it). I am sure we are up there however.

I think rocketDA means in the new USNWR? I actually am not sure where we stand now? I know last year we were tied with Pomona and Amherst. It would be a great honor if we are now number one by ourselves?? I'll look it up.

we are #1 in selectivity in lacs. got the 2008 edition right here.

oooo didnt know USNWR listed selectivity. i only knew about them putting things into categories such as "more selective" "less selective" and the like. does it give any other details?

Rocket, #1 tied or #1 exclusively? If #1 exclusively then it's about time :)!

On the topic of mudd recognition stories...

I took a course at a CC and on the first day of classes the Prof had everyone introduce themselves. I mentioned that I went to Harvey Mudd, but of course no one in the class knew anything about it.

So someone inevitably asked "Where's that?" And I responded in the Claremont area. (I live fairly close....but theres another area where I lived called Clairemont). At this point the professor chimed in saying "I think I know Harvey Mudd". I thought, wow, somebody knows mudd; however, the prof came back with "Thats a really good cosmetology school isn't it?" Oi!

exclusively.
