so what constitutes a "good" interview?

I always hear people talking about how their interview went SOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOD, but how do you decide whether the interview went well or not?

If you had the interviewer drooling at the mouth when you finished, then I would classify your interview as a super(above) par interview.

An interview is good when the interviewer is impressed enough by the student to strongly advocate for their acceptance. It's exceptionally good when the interviewer not only advocates for the student, but also is respected enough by admissions that they'll pay attention to the interviewer's opinion.

It's unlikely that any student really knows if they have had a good interview. Just having a nice or a long conversation with an interviewer doesn't mean that one had a good interview. An interviewer may enjoy conversing with a student and may genuinely like a student and have a lot in common with the student, but for various reasons (grades, personality, etc.) not feel that the student would be a good match for the college.
