So what, my school has grade inflation, what can I even do about it?

My school (apparantly) has grade inflation
I'll be a senior next year
it is a new school with only two graduating classes so far, yet is the best in the county according to the API scores (830ish) (not sure if thats a california thing or not but ya)
to be top 40 you have to have a 4.0 (750 in class)
so say I'm number 2 in my class of 750
4.0 UW, and a 4.75 weighted
most honors taken
most APs taken (1 soph, 4 jr)
will take most APs (7 sr. year)
but my SAT and AP scores indicate that apparantly there is grade inflation
i got a 4 on AP world, but a 660 on the SAT.. A in class
4 on APUSH and a 730... A+ both semesters
3 on physics, and a 660 (will retake) and an A
4 on english with an A- (690 CR and 790 writing)2240 overall. The English Dept is the only without grade inflation, as proabbly about 3/30 kids in my class got A's.
And I got A+s every semester in chem (prep and AP), but didnt DARE take the AP test... in fact 6/30 did... and i think 3 passed (all sophomores though)

SO what can I do
there's "rampant grade inflation." Kids get A's and 3's on AP tests... Hell i thought that was good. That's what the teachers say at least
I dont have a 5 after 5 AP classes
Low 700 SATs
But I'm number 2, behind 1 simply because his bro taught him a class freshman year so he could jump ahead.

there was notihng I could do about my grades... But apparantly I'm going to be... hurt cuz i got 4s?... and a 3? but never a B

I've taken 3 classes at community college... with A+'s... lol maybe theres inflation there too ;)

Well, it's not your fault that your HS has grade inflation. Colleges probably won't hold it against you.

There is a lot of grade inflation in CA public schools and colleges know it. The good news is your competition at UCs is from kids with inflated grades too! Top UCs have SAT and AP scores that are way below that of good privates and they give credit for 3 and over on APs which top privates do not. You want want to focus on a UC.

sucks... I'm avoiding UC's at all costs
probably only applying to UCLA (of the UCs)

As long as your class rank is still high it's OK. If there was grade inflation and you WEREN'T making straight As, then you've got a problem.

it depends on the UC. I even heard on other thread on this forum that its' hard to get 4.0 from UCI honors program.
