So what schools did you all choose NU over?

Northwestern over...

Johns Hopkins
Wash U
Carnegie Mellon
Case Western
U of I Honors
Illinois Wesleyan

John Hopkins
Rochster REMS
USC (1/4 Scholarship)
University of Michigan (1/2 scholarship)
Rice
Universityy of Arizona (1/2 Scholarship)
Vanderbilt (20K scholarship)
WashU (1/2 Scholarship)

HPME over:
Stanford
USC (Bac/Md + 1/4 scholarship)
Cornell
Duke
(the schools I was really considering).
Couldn't beat HPME and the fact it was only 3 yrs ugrad --> a yrs tuition saved.

hey brownjigga what happened to USC's 8 year program, i thought u were leaning towards that one ?

Re-evaluated the finances and the year saved at NW made it significantly cheaper (at least 20G) that USC.
Was never attracted to USC's undergrad, and am aiming to apply out after the 3 yrs of ugrad at NW.
HPME had been my goal since sophomore year, and when it came down to D-Day, I couldn't turn it down.

I chose Northwestern over NYU, USC, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, CSU Long Beach, and University of Oregon. I had a really tough time deciding, but I'm so glad I'm going!

northwestern mainly over nyu, bu, brown, rochester, and hopkins.

Musicarts4 - what's your instrument?

i play the violin and piano

Wow (chose Hopkins over NU, but just wanted to check out this thread anyway). I really like how all of you guys didn't solely go by name-recognition and genuinely researched the schools, choosing based on prestige of your intended majors or what not. You guys sound like an awesome bunch! Good luck to you all!
