So...what was your movie line?

"A fellow will remember a lot of things you wouldn't think he'd remember. You take me. One day, back in 1896, I was crossing over to Jersey on the ferry, and as we pulled out, there was another ferry pulling in, and on it there was a girl waiting to get off. A white dress she had on. She was carrying a white parasol. I only saw her for one second. She didn't see me at all, but I'll bet a month hasn't gone by since that I haven't thought of that girl."

"Bond. James Bond."

My fave quote (although I also love the Departed one)

johnshade,

Props for Citizen Kane.

"Play it Sam"

Casablanca. I've sent loads of piano supplement stuff with my application..i felt I had to put it. Being called Sam also helps.

"Stupid, fat hobbit. You ruins it!" LOTR:TTT

"This is madness"
"This is politics"

justcallmebob and remi's both made me laugh

mine: "The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return" -Moulin Rouge

Yea, one reason that it's my favorite quote is that I can say it almost perfectly.

From Sudden Impact:

"Go ahead. Make my day"

From Everything is Illuminated:

"Please, do not be distressed! This is only the driver's Seeing Eye b*tch. Okay, so she is deranged -- but so, so playful!"

I figure I'm not going to get in anyway, so I might as well go for it.

^ LOL.

I loved that movie. And book.

"I'll be back"

really, it's "'Liter' is french for give me some ------- cola..." from supertroopers, but my teacher thought it'd be a bad plan to put profanity in my application, so i put "there's a cello in your house now" from Rocket Science, which was a close second anyway.

I withdrew after I got into Columbia ED, but it was:

"I'm flayed! No past now! I could give up anything! Maybe...maybe what we've been doing I'm even infected. I don't wanna be! I wanna be with you!"
-- Angels in America

(And yes, Tony Kushner is a Columbia Alum. I obviously belong at CU more than Princeton. haha.)

"this one time. at band camp..." american pie.

"Ohana means family! And family means nobody gets left behind...or forgotten." - Lilo & Stitch

Hahaha just playing, I didn't use that.
But srsly.

LOL @ mangopeachsalsa
i hope they do too.

"i'm all up in ur dryer, hunttin' yo sox monstahz"

ps that's my fav lolcatz quote... not the one i used = )

cory123- I LOVE that quote... and movie.
I think I had the moulin rouge quote down originally, but after watching Elizabethtown for the 1000th time with my best friend, the Drew's closing remarks summed up the whole movie, and what I've been going through for the past few months-
"No true fiasco ever began as a quest for mere adequacy. A motto of the British Special Air Force is: 'Those who risk, win.' A single green vine shoot is able to grow through cement. The Pacific Northwestern salmon beats itself bloody on it's quest to travel hundreds of miles upstream against the current, with a single purpose, sex of course, but also... life "

"A hot dog is singing. You need quiet when a hot dog is singing?" --You've Got Mail

My other one was too long to really be considered a "line." It was from "Paper Moon," which is a great black-and-white film by the way.

-"I got scruples too, you know. You know what that is? Scruples?"
-"No, I don't know what it is, but if you got 'em, it's a sure bet they belong to somebody else!"
