We'll all get accepted somewhere, hopefully to our top-choices, but I was wondering what everyone is doing this summer....internships? volunteering? travelling?...anything?

Hopefully I'll be attending SAMS or AP/EA @ Carnegie Mellon. I also plan to play tennis like...everyday (if CM lets SAMS participants use their athletic facilities).

well I'm about 99% sure I'll be rejected from both the summer programs I applied to, so I plan to just find a summer job, do a lot of volunteering, have fun, and go to some concerts.

Working for sure. Traveling is something I want to do. My number one: chilling with friends before we separate! =[

@ you'llsee:
yes, CMU lets you use their facilities. they have 6 courts (below ground level actually, though outdoor) right in the middle of their campus. if nothing's changed, you'll see them on the first day when you walk to your dining hall. to use the tennis courts, you need to go to the UC and sign in.

im working/interning for 6 weeks (good money!) before heading off to 4 weeks in beijing, where major partying at my hometown is expected. ill come back at the end of july and then go on shopping sprees for dorm necessities. depending on which college i end up choosing to go, i will be shipping myself over from mid-aug to mid-sept.

interning...i wanna travel though...but the main thing is hanging with friends before we all go away

thank you, Tongchen1226. My day keeps getting better and better!

i also hope to get into one of carnegie mellon's programs but im also applying to a lot of different programs. hopefully i will be accepted into at least one.

tongchen: Really? I'm heading to China in my last weeks of summer vacation too.

If I get rejected from TASP then I'll be doing some volunteer work for SCA for about three or four weeks. (Hopefully somewhere nice. I haven't gotten a placement yet.) If that falls through then a road trip will be in order. =]

If I don't get into the summer programs I applied to, then...

Red Cross volunteer work, getting a job, running everyday, and hanging with friends.

I applied to only one summer program. If I don't get in, I'll do the same volunteer and regular job I had last summer/now, and probably a little personal college visiting, but most importantly, chilling and relaxing with friends before senior year starts.

TASP!

If I get in...

If I don't, I'll either be singing at Tanglewood or writing at the Carleton Summer Writing Program. So yeah...

hey, I'm right so far! haha I got rejected from Oxbridge. The whole thing kind of sucks because my
Oxbridge application ended up being insanely better than my Tasp application, which pretty much sucked, but the problem is the Oxbridge scholarships are partially based on financial need, and my middle-class-ness probably killed that. So basically I didn't get into oxbridge because I don't have "enough financial need" and I'm not going to get into Tasp cause my application sucked.
woot.

Cornell Summer College.

Anyone else going?

alamode, don't feel bad about the Oxbridge thing. I read that only ~5% of FA applicants get a scholarship.

I'm probably going to Exeter and a one or two week minicourse at Brown.

french immersion at universite sainte-anne in nova scotia

taking on random summer classes and hopefully a job.

-CTY @ Johns Hopkins University [3 weeks]
-lots of shopping/packing if I am accepted into boarding school(s)
-pottery classes at a studio [5 weeks/once a week]
-East coast trip with school (accepted) [1 week]
