I haven't visited (OOS) yet so can someone tell me some of the things about UCLA that really stick out. Do people go into the city of LA often? Are there lots of stuff to do in and outside of UCLA campus. I've never been to LA so that one of many reason why I would like to attend UCLA but of course I don't want that to be the only reason why I attend UCLA. So please help if you can. Thanks a lot.

It’s a really nice area(especially compared to USC haha) and I thought the campus was really nice. Plus good weather and great food both on and off campus makes it even better. This is all just my personal opinion though. :)

It’s a huge research university with so many resources for those looking for graduate/professional school

much more fun at UCLA, especially compared to Cal haha

I’m OOS, too, and when I visited UCLA last summer, the first thing that immediately struck my attention was that it was in a gorgeous location. It’s surrounded by Beverly Hills, Bel-Air, and Brentwood, so you see all of the gorgeous (gated) houses as you drive past. The campus is HUGE. Absolutely beautiful, but HUGE and really hilly.

I’d never been to LA, either, (I’m an NYC girl, really) and it completely astounded me that everyone took cars to get everywhere. There really weren’t many people around, as opposed to NYC where there are hoards of people everywhere you look. The lack of a good public transportation system kind of irked me, but there’s nothing much you can do about it. It wasn’t as sunny as I expected it to be, I guess because of the smog. Still great weather, of course, though. Oh, and people drive fast. =)

I say UCLA because of the following facts

-Beautiful location
-Prestige
-Amazing Education
-The people, social scene
-The Programs
-The Food
-The Alumni

the girls
the parties with the aforementioned girls
the food
the weather

just because.

WHY NOT?!

jk.

beautiful campus
great location (if you’re a city mouse)
tons of stuff to do… ie musicals, great shopping, great clubs, great dining, etcetcetc
the rivalry w/ usc makes the student body connected and spirited (unlike many other uc campus cough sd cough irvine)
perfect weather & not too far from the beach or big bear if you wana snowboard/ski
