Social Life at RPI

NBinks--thanks so much for the info on Outdoors pursuits. My S is on Sr Trip, hopefully having fun but asking his friends some questions about why they are interested in their top pick schools.

Anyone know a sailing club member as well? He isn't sure he wants to put the time in to compete but he has been a competitive sailor since he was 8 and may decide to continue in college as well. He is concerned about picking a school that is too "techie", mind you he wants to be an engineer. RPI sounds like it is big enough to have all sorts of interests under one roof.

Thanks for posting so much everyone! For those still interested about the social life at RPI I visited on accepted student day and I did an overnight Tuesday night which put my mind at ease. There's PLENTY to do on campus, more than I could ever do anywhere else I've seen. I went during Greekweek so I got to go to the BBQs and it was a fun time! There's so many organized activities to attend, there's no way anyone could do it all. Everyone is down to earth, smart, and real people. RPI is the best fit for me and I sent in my deposit today, goodluck to all of you who are still deciding!
