<p>Can anyone speak from experience about the social life at UMD? How are the parties/are there many parties? Are there usually lots of things going on? Do people go into DC for fun? How is the social life in general?</p>

<p>If your goal is to party every night at UMD, the opportunity will be there (and will NOT be hard to find). If you choose to do non-partying social events every night of the week, that option is there as well…Not a particularly different experience than any parent who attended a large public university back in the dark ages.</p>

<p>Seriously though, Maryland’s a party school and a big research school. You have both ends of the spectrum and everything in between.</p>
