Social Life, Student Body, Experience

This thread is probably directed towards current students or past students.
I have heard a lot about the student body and how its very closed-minded and very into there own way of doing things. Is this true, or is there room amongst students for self expression and individuality. I guess I’m also wondering if the catholic school title really affects a lot of students’ way of life while at Boston College. I am not very religous and was wondering if there would be other people like me there, open to trying new things and just enjoying college life.
Also I read on a post that freshman year may be very hard for males because of the rigid structure of social life that dominates the college. Is this also true? And one more thing, do students take advantage of the city of boston, b/c that is something i’d intend on doing. Thank You
