<p>How is the social scene at Columbia? Are people genrally too attached to their books, or do they go out and party a lot?</p>
<p>people drink....people study.....people go to hotspots in NYC.....basically people go out and explore the city and its aspects with there friends</p>
<p>The weekend basically starts on Thursday night. It is rare to have a Friday class, and rare that people who have Friday classes actually attend (or attend sober). Even a course like Thermodynamics will be a empty on Friday.</p>
<p>There isn't a huge on-campus social scene, given that Columbia is in NYC. Some people hang out at local bars and others go downtown.</p>
