Okay, I KNOW how to make ice cream cones. First, do not do revolutions of swirls. Place the cone directly underneath the nozzle, don't move your hand or anything. Then, pull down the lever firmly, but still do not move your hand. The ice cream will pile up neatly in a cone shape, and is fool proof of falling. Plus, you get more ice cream that way.

Robert E Lee has it right! if you want to make those little rolls like DQ, simply lower your cone a little and then raise it back up to make a little fold--otherwise, hold your cone as close as possible and don't swirl!

I work in fast food...I basically put the nozzle directly on top of the cone (when the nozzle is actually touching the cone) and let the ice cream fill the cone to the top then just keep circling around the cone while still pressing the nozzle down...then just keep lowering the cone away from the nozzle until you're done...so it's gonna have little small rolls not big fat ones

lol it's a science...just ask someone to show you...that's how I learned
