When I took a SolidWorks class last year I was given a license for the software, but was sorry to see it expire not long after the end of the class.

It looks from the SolidWorks website that if I want to buy a student license to keep using it, it's $150 but it expires after 12 months -- so I'd have to keep re-upping (and paying) every year. Is that the best deal out there? I think I may be taking another class in the future that uses it so I may get a free license then, but I'd like to be able to use it on an ongoing basis for projects through the rest of school.
