Some college freshmen's first school day comes late

I'm going to be a Jan-start too, but at a pretty small liberal arts college that isn't mentioned in the article. Anyway, I was also disappointed when I got the letter, and it definitely does feel weird to have a lot of my friends at off at college right now, having all these new experiences while I'm still at home. However, I've certainly got enough to keep myself occupied: working, volunteering, studying to test out of two entry-level music theory classes, and playing with a local semi-pro symphony orchestra. Now that my fall plans are starting to shape up, this is seeming more and more like a viable and exciting option rather than something I would rather not do.
Also, I agree with sparkle28swim - it feels like this aspect of college admissions isn't really discussed at all here, perhaps because it isn't too common... but it's nice to see this thread :)
