.) Campus security: ummm I don’t know what you think about Tech but it wasn’t a security problem, the same thing could have happened at any college (I’m assuming you mean the shootings a few Aprils ago). Don’t walk around past midnight and expect to be safe, this is a town with a 25% poverty rate and muggings happen (not frequently but not infrequently, typically after midnight in sketchy areas after people are tipsy) among other crimes. But it’s not, like, Philadelphia or Richmond or anything.

.) food / crowded: Food is okay (better at first year dorms than other dining halls). Crowded between 12pm and 1:30pm typically.

.) Are the gyms good? I don’t go but a lot of my friends do and I don’t hear complaints.

.) Are the clubs/activities diverse? There are over 500 clubs so yes.

.) Is the Student Body diverse? The eschool is pretty diverse, a lot of international students. The school body is more diverse than Virginia itself (which some argue about) but I wouldn’t call it DIVERSE diverse (still majority white).

.) Is it terribly hard to maintain a GPA of 3.8 or above? Yes. There’s a reason it is prestigious to get Phi Beta Kappa. This school is made up of valedictorians and 4.0+ GPAs from high school, the average GPA is 3.2 here. Not everyone gets A’s, that’s real world. There’s still a lot of inflation though, as you can tell by average GPA being 3.2.

.) Are the dorms nice (Like bathrooms and stuff)? They’re functioning. They’re not abominable but they’re not ritzy hotel nice. This is college not a luxury spa stay.

.) Do you HAVE to have a car or is everything within walking distance? You’re not allowed to have a car your first year.

.) Are there many research opportunities? Yes.

.) Is there a nearby hospital where I can volunteer? Yes, UVA hospital where our med school is. So glad you searched out info on that one.

.) Are the professors open to tutoring during office hours? They have office hours but they’re not going to tutor you. You’d have to get a private tutor or go to big open sessions with TAs (depends on department).

.) Are you happy there? I love it here!!! It’s just not a Ritz Carlton, it’s a state school, come on now, you need some more reasonable expectations than those you seem to be wanting from a state school (or any college).
