Some questions about Dartmouth.

My Dartmouth admissions officer answered these questions via email but I’d also like other opinions/answers. (Applying ED to Dartmouth)

1.How did the D-Plan influence your education ?
2.Do many students get out of Hanover/NH to visit major cities such as Boston ?
3.Is the process for creating a club or organization difficult or hard ?
4.What language did you learn ? Or What is your favorite language ?
5.Outside of the Homecoming Bonfire run, What was your favorite Dartmouth experience ?

'17 here.

  1. It gave me a sophomore summer that was among the best months of my life, and simultaneously allowed me to take an off term where I had an absolutely life changing experience. No, it wasn't a gold-star internship or anything remotely like that. So, it had a tremendous impact on my education (education defined here in the same way as in the quote "don't let your schooling interfere with your education").
  2. Not really. Everyone asks this and expects to do this a lot. Realistically you'll be really busy and won't do this much at all unless you're incredibly devoted to making this happen.
  3. No. Dartmouth has a huge amount of money, you just have to convince them to give it to you. If something doesn't exist, it's easy to start.
  4. None. I placed out of the requirement with AP Spanish (17s were the last class to get AP credits)
  5. Leading a DOC trip my senior fall.

Hope that helps!
