Some questions on the Sciences and Music

Hi there,
I have a couple of questions below:
1) I was wondering if Berkeley was known for its sciences, particularly those in the biological sciences.
2) Is Berkeley known for successfully sending graduates into good pre-med schools? Does anyone know the statistics for this?
3) Similar question as above, but for pre-vet instead of pre-med. Are there students there who also decide to pursue a career in vet med? would anyone also have statistics abt % of acceptance rates into vet schools?
4) How are the facilities in berkeley? (Such as the gym, the classrooms and lab facilities)
5) I'm a cellist and I want to continue to play the cello in college so that i wont forget it. I don't really want to major or minor in music because i just want to play for fun.. so i was wondering if Berk has music classes i can take for fun or cello tutors that can instruct me on a regular basis.
6) by the way, i heard some people mention that people who are dead set on pursuing the medical track should not come to berkeley as they will not have a social life at all. Is this true? cuz im considering on becoming a doctor or a veterinarian (as revealed above) but i am not completely dead set on becoming either one.. which is why i chose berkeley because the course breadth allows me to have more options to explore.
7) another question: Are there requirements that we have to fulfill? such as taking a language course, a social studies course, a science course, math course, etc.?

I am really sorry for having so many questions.. but i hope that you guys could take the time to answer at least some of them.

Thank you so much in advance

I can't help you much on the Berkely facts, but vet school acceptance rates are about 10-15%. Most schools get 700-1000 applicants/year, for a class of 100 eventually accepted. It can be more competitive than getting into med school, because there are only 29 vet schools in the US compared to 125 med schools.

I'm in the application process right now...i know the pain
