Hello,

Can anyone explain to me what International Law is all about?

What’s the usual curriculum.

Who are my potential employers. Private firms or public firms.

Does U.N. or any other global organizations recruit Law School graduates? If they do, do they recruit the ones who studied International Law?

Is it better to study J.D.&M.P.A./M.I.A. or J.D.&M.B.A. or just J.D. or just M.P.A./M.I.A. or just M.B.A.?

which one of those areas listed above is the one that has the highest starting salary?

If I were to become an International Lawyer, would I be able to earn a considerably high salary compare to the majority?

Strictly speaking, International Law generally is concerned with legal issues having to do with international treaties or with non-treaty subjects that arise between countries (for example, in some cases, international human rights issues). So, realistically, international law will involve other areas of law such as labor relations, food, exports/imports, war, maritime law (law of the sea), space law, and human rights, among others.

International Law is also often considerd to involve issues of international business that have little or no connecion to any treaties, such as international contracts of all types.

International Law as a subject having to do with principles of treaties and general international law is taught in law schools, and some specialized areas of international law are also taught in some schools.

A good preparation for a career in international law in general would be a major in international relations or political science. A business degree would be useful if you are interested in the business aspects of international law; however, a degree in some other area might be more appropriate if, for example, you wanted to go into intenational public health, human rights, native rights, ecology, etc.

Employers include law firms, the UN and other international organizations, companies engaged in international business, and various non-profits dealing with international issues.
