I also saw that someone else had a “reddit” about this, with exactly the same issue.
My son took the Math 2 Subject test on June 4th, which is the Sunday administration.
He got an email on Wednesday saying that due to an “administrative issue,” scores are not final until Monday 6/17. Naturally, we looked online today anyway.
Well, it shows his score as a 430, which is I think the lowest you can get. OK, maybe he didn’t get 800, but this is a kid who made it to AIME since 7th grade. I’m on hold with College Board right now.
Any other BTDT??
Follow up: apparently the 430 is not the “specific score” and 400 students were affected. I’ll write more on Monday.
The lady didn’t know what the issue was, but said that 430 is a placeholder and it’s like a “zero”. I wonder how many other heart attacks will take place! Yes, I guess we should have waited until Monday, but people who took the regular SAT were saying that theirs were already up. Perhaps the CC community will have sympathy with checking earlier than “supposed to”.
Note to self: do not look online until the day scores are finalized.
OMG not updated yet. I called the SAT and I do not wish that experience on anyone. The number of ways this person could say absolutely nothing but engender hope in the listener until the end of a very long paragraph was astounding. I will summarize the HOUR of waiting and listening thus:
They don’t know anything but scores still aren’t final.
Sounds like our experience with the ACT when my daughter’s score was not available over a month after the first release date and her summer scholarship depended on it!
@DavidPuddy - Re (#1) No, no information at all. Allegedly someone “higher” is going to call me back with some more information. (Not holding my breath.)
Re (#2) - I don’t know, but my son is and so is someone random I found on Reddit. Are you affected, or do you know of anyone who is? The random Reddit person said 430 for Math-2, which is my son’s same test, and 390 for Math-1. I’m assuming that those are the “zero” scores if you left everything blank (??) - but I have no real reason to think that. When we log in, there is no data whatsoever under “see report” (just a blank narrow line). And the customer service number given on that page is for PSAT only, because College Board is as diabolical as possible (!)
Anyone else out there similarly in limbo?
Update: now it shows no scores at all on the login. Naturally, no one called me back.
Two years ago college Board screwed up two sections of the math section of the June SAT due to misprints regarding time allowed in the test booklets. They ended up scoring the test but throwing out those sections and saying the scores were valid anyway. They did finally end up offering a free retest to those who wanted it, after an uproar.
Sympathy for the frustration–hope you get answers and a valid score soon
Thank you! How long did it take to rescore…?
God this whole thread is so stressful. I really hate standardized tests and the wringer they put our kids through.
My daughter still has no CalcAB score from her May AP test. Without it she can’t sign up for the correct classes, and the ones she needs are almost filled. It never ends…
btw - no update today. I called again and “someone” will call me today. Allegedly. It was among the most frustrating customer service calls in my life. Not rude like Sprint or RCN, but rather totally incompetent and bad communication…
me: Did they already send out a score report to the listed colleges?
person: Well, we have procedures and it’s the process of the way that it happens in the system.
me: Did they send a report?
person: The system is clarifying that the information of the process.
me: Please, answer yes, no, or I don’t know; did they send a report to colleges?
person: I’m very sorry yes it is frustrating. The person of that department for the service of computer arrangements but it isn’t clear from my end about the plans.
me: So you don’t know?
person: I don’t know
[repeat]
ETA - they now claim that two reports WERE sent to the listed four colleges, the wrong one and the corrected one. So what’s the information sent in the corrected report? They don’t know. I called the college where my older son attends (which was one on the report list), hoping to glean any data, but they have not received scores on my younger, but also, they haven’t done a CB download for “this season” yet.
Update: WOW! A rep did call me back, unaccented English, told me DS2’s score (much higher than 430 ) and apologized. And said there was no evidence of anything being sent to any colleges with the wrong score. So, they do get some credit. Still nothing on the login, but the rep said that it should update overnight.
