son recruited-paper science/eng scholarship

Did any one who was accepted to the college of eng get a package from the director of PSE (paper science and engineering)?

Son was accepted to College of ENG and is being offered a chance for a scholarship of 10,000

Does anyone know how successful these students are in this field of study?

Letter says you can Dual Major in Chem Eng which might be worth a second look.

DH (NCSU Mech. Engineering grad) says he believes it to be the most challenging major at the university. That being said , they do come out with two degrees that make them pretty marketable.

Which Scholarship was he offered a chance for?

I got the scholarship app too.
I believe it requires you to double major (chemical engineering and something else), thus forcing you to stay for a 5th year.

Chemical Engineering is already extremely difficult.

I’m passing on it.

money is from the Pulp and Paper Foundation which was set up at NC state
contributions from the industry to endow a large number of scholarships.

There are 140 scholarships in PSE - the largest endowment on campus
NC state has the only school which permits students to enroll in a dual major with Chem. engineering
Only criteria is a 3.0 GPA entering into PSE

Students who graduate in paper science are EXTREMELY marketable.

You don’t have to do a duel major but a duel major is probably the best bet.
