^Sometimes…I …just…don’t…understand.

Yeah, this group picketed at a school near me because they are named after Walt Whitman, who is a suspected (?) homosexual.

^^^ That is no ‘Church’ of God…Or any religion or thing

They protest soldier funerals…I hate it when people interpret “positive” things negatively and uses the “convoluted interpretation” to back their “evil” deeds…

Prejudiceeee ftl.

koreans ftw

The administration couldn’t really “do” anything. We were told about it and had talks in classrooms about diversity/racism/homophobia.

We held a fund raiser for our school’s LGBT group and people donated money for every minute that they were there. Then we mailed them with a mock “thank you” note telling them how much money they raised for the support of LGBT individuals.

^I vaguely recall a HSLer saying that a student in their school had mooned them. Was that from your school?

^AHAH that is quite epic.

i wish the westboro baptist church would come to my school sometime, it’d be fun.

^lol, i guess it would be. our school is usually so boring that, if this were to happen, maybe we could hold a counter-protest & dress up in rainbow colors & shiz. that would be quite the in-school par-tay.

“Then we mailed them with a mock “thank you” note telling them how much money they raised for the support of LGBT individuals.”

haha, nice!

Indians are Asian

obviously… and Russia is considered Europe because the capital is in europe.

^ and most of the population lives in Europe. The few that live in Siberia could justifiably be called Asian.

Although who cares. It’s all just semantics.

Everyone knows classification is pointless.

Well, what about those 3 races? Well, changed to 5: caucasoid, congoid, capoid, mongoloid, and australoid (wiki!). So congoid and capoid just make up the former negroid, different shapes of heads (race joke: all black people do not, in fact, look like). Australoid makes up Australia (obviously) as well as New Guinea, Melanesia, and different parts of Oceania, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, and the Southern Middle East. Hey…India.

So different race.

I’m sorry for using that word, I was caught up in anger. I’m sorry, but where I come from, people are very ignorant about Indians. Many are bullied in our school and they create all sorts of stereotypes.
Many of the Indians in our school come directly from India, so they’re first gen.

I’m only 1 of the 3 second gen Indians in our school. While I “fit in”, I see a lot of fellow Indians get mistreated, even by teachers.
Our P.E teacher tried forcing a Punjabi for removing his turban on the account of his grade…it was a huge fight with the parents and the administration. The teacher was removed, but still…
“You smell like crap curry” and “Why don’t you go to flight school” are common insults. I can’t tolerate any sort of insult against my race.

Please understand. Maybe makingapoint was joking. But jokes are supposed to be funny. And he was certainly NOT being funny.

I’m sensitive to any comments towards Indians. For instance

This immediately went in my head: “Are Indians not as ‘advanced’ as Koreans and Chinese? On what basis are we not advanced?”
So I ask you all, please be considerate. Again, I’m sorry for having used expletives: I should have also realized that a lot of people who are possibly sensitive on the subject of sexuality would be deeply offended by that word.

the spicy curry award hahaha (the office)

well, economically speaking, India is still a developing economy, according to the IMF World Economic Outlook Report.

The following countries listed, however, have fully developed economies already:
* Hong Kong (After 1997)
* Singapore (After 1997)
* South Korea (After 1997)
* Taiwan (After 1997)
* Cyprus (After 2001)
* Slovenia (After 2007)
* Malta (After 2008)
* Czech Republic (After 2009)
* Slovakia (After 2009)

So yes, economically speaking, korea and china are more advanced.

“When people say “Asian” they think of flat nosed, flat faces, slant eyes, etc.”

I was not joking. There are many ways to describe once enthnicity but don’t resort to stereotype. I know alot of Asian friends and they are really nice people. I was offended by your usage of the words “slant eyes.” It is precisely the way you said it that offend other people features and ethnicity. If you know American history, the Asian people, especially the Chinese who are the first Asian immigrant into America had sufferred ernomous prejudice by the white folks. The Chinese was called all kind of thing and worst they were attacked because they look different. Your insensitivity in your choice of word is precisely why the world is full of hate. I purposely hurl back an insensitive word to you so that you can taste the same medicine as would an Asian. Indian are smart people and they are very well respected in most circle. Please don’t insult other if you don’t want other to insult your ethnicty. Peace.

^^ HONG KONG REPRESENT!

(I notice that we’re at the top of that list.)

Look stop the prejudice. It’s hurtful to speak against East Asians and it’s hurtful to call us Indians “less advanced”. I’m not going to argue about why Indians are not less compared to anybody but let’s just stop this now. Even if you mean something as a joke, it doesn’t come off well on the internet.

yes, because as mentioned in previous pages

india is part of asia , so yes asian.

But if people ask what my nationality/ethnicity i say Indian not asian.
