The show must go on

I was listening to Queen 'The ahow must go on' last year year when I received the rejection letter from Harvard. Before opening the message I felt as though I was going to do bungee jumping jejeje with a simple click my life changed a lot. My parents and friends encouraged me to apply again ...so there we go again with all the strees of filling out applications and stuff.

Its so difficult to get in. Even if we won the Nobel Peace Prize, there will be more kids in the large pool of applicants who probably have won the same prize. I can't complain. I've learnt alot, volunteered in Thailand and Africa, eaten strange food (including bugs), met interesting people and realized that we have the opportunity to learn everywhere. We don't need to go to those 'big' universities to be succesful. All depends on how we see things. I have been working on the admission process for almost 2 years and now I feel confident that there will be more possibilities beyond Harvard and Princeton. Unfortunately, a graduate from Harvard has a big chance to get good positions at work, but still it is not the last university in the world.

Don't feel bad if you guys are rejected. Yeah Yeah it feels awful to open a message like ... "WE ARE VERY SORRY TO TELL YOU THAT BLA BLA BLA " I know most of us will be sorry also if we read this from Harvard or any other university....BUT WE NEED TO MOVE ON....THE SHOW MUST GO ON ...LET'S FACE IT. Whatever happens we still have our mind to make right decisions and get to the top.

I've realized that it is also a little bit a matter of luck. Come on there are 22, 700 kids who want to go there and Im sure at least half of them are well-equipped to perform well ....but harvard has only some places each year so many of us don't get anything. Numbers on the scores reports and letters of recommendations cannot reflect exactly what we are, perhaps the essay shows a lot of our personality, but still there are so much more we could not say to the admission committee about ourselves.

"I'll face it with a grin
I'll never give in
on with the show"

In the event of my Demise
when my heart can beat no more
I Hope I Die For A Principle
or A Belief that I had Lived 4
I will die Before My Time
Because I feel the shadow's Depth
so much I wanted 2 accomplish
before I reached my Death
I have come 2 grips with the possibility
and wiped the last tear from My eyes
I Loved All who were Positive
In the event of my Demise
