<p>Northstarmom, I also think this is a parody of the rest of this thread. I kind of got a chuckle when I read it, although I know in reality it's not a funny situation. </p>
<p>Actually, right now I am reading a good book called "Everyday Racism" by Annie S. Barnes. It tells the stories of 150 black college students from middle class families and how they encounter racism in their lives. It also gives ideas for what all of us can do to confront and respond to racism. (Sorry to digress, but I thought it was important.) </p>
<p>Anyway, I hope my daughter is paired with someone who has some differences--racial, political, socioeconomic. etc. College is a great time to open your mind and learn about other people. I only hope that her roommate is NOT a total neat freak and is NOT a morning person! THAT might be a disaster! LOL.</p>
<p>i'm surprised that doveofpeace and northstarmom both did not pick up the sarcasm in the two "racist" and "homophobic" posts. perhaps the two issues have become so sensitive that they may not even be used to point out how racism is idiotic?</p>
<p>LMAO, sarcasm can be hard to pick up on the internet, but the sarcasm could not have possibly been more blatant if it smacked you in the face with a sledgehammer.</p>
