my average was a 101.2 weighted so about 100 unweighted.
Oh wow! MA that’s amazing
Hey everyone, I’m a current student and my brother is applying. I’ve been asked to take a look at this thread and help answer some questions you may have!
-Sophie admissions committee generally aims to have 70-80 students attend, as this has been the trend in recent years. Which means 200-250 students will get an interview and around 100 will be accepted in late April. They will defer a certain number of people based on how many of the 100 accepted applicants chose to attend.
-My hs stats were high and most of my current peers were ranked high in their class and had great GPAs/ACT. HOWEVER, I cannot stress enough how much the admissions committee wants to see your commitment to the program and the healthcare field. They also want to see that you’re HUMAN! If you go into your interview and make the main focus about your grades/rank/academic accomplishments, you will not be favored!! Relax, get personal, and be genuine.
-There are about 15+ different interviewers you can get, and I’m not including the student interviews. So don’t memorize a script of what someone else was asked. Know your essays really well and you’re golden.
-I may be wrong with this, but the admissions committee starts by looking at mailed-in applications and then dive into the ones submitted online. Rest assured, your application will be looked at and interviewees in March will have an equal chance of admission as those in January.
I’ve heard that the application pool is huge this year, so there are many applicants to sort through. They may even go past April with interviews this year. Don’t stress if you haven’t gotten a response yet. This is very long whoops but let me know if you have any other questions!
Thank you. That was very helpful & informative. I hope you’re doing amazing at S.D
