I am a sophomore in New York and I was wanting to hear your insight on my chances and also where I should go next.

Extra curriculars:
I plan on playing 4 years of varsity football and lacrosse. I’m a member of the robotics clubs, founder of an engineering club focusing on alternative energy, Leo club(volunteering), Volunteer for town and im getting into tutoring with other students, national honor society next year. I’m planing to intern for an automobile engineer, and I work for a local tree service.
Thank you sorry if it may seem I’m lost but I’m
just hoping to find what’s next and finding where I’m at.
You’re a sophomore, you have a lot more time before you even start apps. Stop stressing about college, just focus on your grades and extra curriculars.
To echo what AlenaGT3 said, you shouldn’t really be worrying about this yet. Just follow your passions, and then you can start stressing in a year.
I would disagree with the two posts above. Sophomore year is a high time for you to really find what you like to do - you are starting to know the ways of high school, classes aren’t very challenging yet, and you can start climbing the club position hierarchy. Find a few things that you really like and focus all your energy there. DON’T try to be well-rounded if you are not. If you like sports, be the team captain and get recruited. If you love science, plan on doing research and writing/publishing a research paper. If you like engineering, find a problem that you would like to solve and solve it (build something great and submit it to STS or Google science fair or something). You also need to keep your grades up because even if top schools recruited you, you still need decent grades to get in. Don’t try to do everything at once because you won’t excel at anything. The only secret to college admissions is that colleges LOVE ultra-specialists. They are the ones that bring fame to their school. Be a god at one or two things and you will get in to any college you want. If you wait a year, instead of being president of robotics club in your senior year, you might get stuck as a treasurer or vice president. Also get your standardize testing done as fast as possible and make sure it doesn’t become a hassle in your senior year. start soon and I hope you get into any college you want.
