If you start an organization teaching underpriveleged youths how to play music and raise like 10k it will look pretty good. It’s great that you’re a legacy at Princeton +Yale, and if your aunt has taught at UPenn for years it could help you. Good Luck in Siemens and on the SAT! :)

Thank you, big dreamer! The more I see about teaching the underprivileged music, the more I buy into the idea.

Your welcome! I think that this fits you well because you get to provide service in an activity that you love…great for college admissions! Best wishes! :)

To be perfectly honest, music is not my number one passion.

well you already have some great stuff going for you, the fact that you’ve been published in a newspaper is great. & same with the legacies at yale & princeton.
i’m not 100% sure what the best “hook” would be but i agree with whoever it was that suggested organizing some kind of music playing group for foster homes & shelters. if you are the one that organizes it and it turns into something big that could be published in a newspaper, that would really catch admissions officers.

Thank you very much. I will consider that. I do have two more years, after all!

Hooks are lame. Just do what you’re passionate about, and things will fall into place. Good luck!

Also, I like Streetlight Manifesto’s version better. (:

This is a joke right. EA yale and RD Princeton. With your double legacy, your bound to get into one or the other with your EC and Academic credentials.

KMad - Catch-22’s is classic, but Streetlight’s is more crisp. It’s so hard to decide which one is better, gah! And thank you very much.

asian at lab - Well, I’m glad to hear that this is what you think my chances are, but after reading CC posts, it seems like everybody is applying with the same credentials, and I’m looking for something to stand out. Thank you!
