Hey I'm a sophomore this year and I'm look ahead to apply to Ivy League schools (Yale is my reach school I also like upenn, brown, Columbia, Dartmouth) and i need some advice on what to do to get there

My unweighted GPA as of now is (4.0/4.0) and my weighted is 4.17
This is the first year I was allowed to take APs: AP World History and AP HUMAN geography and maybe in the second semester I'll take AP macroeconomics
I play the piano and have won competitions, played at nursing homes, and churches
have been on varsity track and cross country
I'm in key club and scholar bowl (also applying for NHS)
I've been to the florida state science fair twice in middle school(does middle school count?) (got a scholarship to FGCU in middle school)
I think I need more service and volunteering... Are there any suggestions as to what I can do and what classes I should take next year? Thank you

The don’t see anything you did in middle school and there’s no way to put activities in the extracurriculars section that you did in middle school.

Take the classes you’re interested in.

“Yale is my reach school I also like upenn, brown, Columbia, Dartmouth” --> are you suggesting that those other schools aren’t reach schools?

Why do you want to go to an Ivy? There are universities and LACs that could provide a much better education for you depending on what you’re looking for/what you want to study.

Also, what ^ said. It’s impossible to tell when you’re only a year into high school. Once you’ve taken the SAT or ACT/once you’re in your junior year, we’ll be able to offer much more help.

I don’t mean to sound rude or anything, but what you should be doing now is keeping your grades up and developing passions in and outside of the classroom.

It depends on your planned focus. If you want to do medicine or engineering when you’re older, I would suggest interning in a lab over your summer. Look up faculty at your nearest university who are researching something you’re interested in, and shoot them an email.
