Sophomore schedule - too time consuming?

Honors Geometry
Honors Algebra 2
Honors Chemistry
AP English Language and Composition
AP U.S. History
German 1
1st semester - AP Macroeconomics
2nd semester - Introduction to Psychology (dual enrollment)

Just FYI, I’m taking two math classes so that I can take AP Calculus BC my senior year. I was originally going to test out of Algebra 2 but got anxious about it, so now I’m taking seven classes instead of the standard six.

I’m thinking it won’t be too hard to handle because I’m going to be studying Algebra 2 over the summer and I already know a considerable amount of German, but what do you guys think? Honestly, I don’t really have a social life, so I guess I have an advantage there. My ECs aren’t very time consuming either. Still, should I switch out either APLAC or APUSH for an honors class?

If you decide to drop something, I would drop AP Macro and Psychology.

The difficulty of this schedule is very, very dependent on your school. Some things:
AP Lang is (at most schools!) not a terribly time-consuming or difficult class – dropping down to honors might not make a huge change in the amount of work.
The difficulty of APUSH ranges school-to-school from a breeze to being the most work intensive class. Check in with some juniors who took it this year and try to get a sense of what this class is like. If you don’t like history, the class is super stressful, and you’re concerned about the workload, this may be the class you should consider dropping from-- but again, this spends on your school.
To be honest, your schedule looks doable if you like math enough. Not easy, by any means, but doable, unless one or more of those classes is notorious at your school, in which case it might be a bit too much.
I do agree with the above poster (if you want to drop something, drop Psych and AP Econ).
Sorry this is so piecemeal!

No, that’s not bad at all. Algebra 2 is straightforward, and you should have no trouble if you like math. The only classes which you might have a bit of trouble in are the AP classes, but if you study a few minutes extra each day and do all of your work, you should be fine. It is most definitely manageable.

Thanks everyone! I think I’ll keep the 7 class load, but I’ll probably take dual enrollment Micro instead of Psych since my schedule makes more sense that way. I think the heavily math-based schedule would benefit me somewhat since I do plan on going into mathematics in college.

Depends on school like someone said above…
Have fun in APUSH! depending on your teacher you will pass the class and fail the exam or fail the class and pass the exam.
