Sophomore year financial aid

I am a freshman at BC right now and I am on financial aid. If my financial status (household income and other factors like that) have not changed much over the course of the past year, can I suppose that my financial aid award for next year will be the same as (or extremely close to) what I was awarded last year?

You can suppose this, but based on our experience at BC, it can also change dramatically (and much lower) depending on how the FA office “interprets” the changes. My advice: if they try to lower your FA award, make sure to file an appeal and provide evidence why they need to keep your award the same or greater. You may need to have your parents support you and intervene because they are a bit like the experience of trying to returning something at Macy’s: you have to be professional, but persistent to get what you want.
