Thank you! Snowing here today so this is on the menu for the weekend!

@abasket @BunsenBurner and anyone else. If you decide to make this soup, I would strongly suggest you use four cups of chicken broth instead of two. I made it with the two cups, and I think it tasted great but it was way too thick.

Tonight when I heated it up as a leftover, I added more broth to make it thinner. It was way better. Taste was still delicious, but the consistency was more like a thick soup as opposed to much thicker.

Anyway…totally worth making…but use 4 cups of chicken broth.

Good tip. And I will say that my butternut soup posted a few above is also quite thick - so the broth could probably be increased to three cups. I don’t mind it thick but I’m guessing many would like it thinner.

I’ve posted my butternut squash soup here a number of times. Mine has apples and squash…and four cups of broth. The recipe actually calls for some cider too, but I’ve never added that!

Mine is Wolfgang Puck’s recipe. Except I skip the crème fraîche.

H makes this soup every Thanksgiving. We eat late–around 4:30-5:00 pm. Since people (my kids and their partners) get hungry before then, H serves them soup, which he made today. I think it’s a perfect fall/winter soup.

I made this tonight with some leftover thanksgiving ham. I also used a can of Costco canned chicken - you could use leftover Turkey!

I added some diced carrots too. Our milk was bad so I used a combo of heavy cream, half and half and double the chicken bone broth.

It is really really good! Fast too!

This is on the menu for later this week. I froze the little bit of turkey have left (mostly dark meat) but will use it to make this, instead of chicken.

Finished making turkey soup today with the turkey carcass. I will be making this ham lentil soup with the ham bone.

One Ramen shop in Japan - Just got a flashback of a night out with a Kellogg alum friend in his hometown of Tokyo. Tetsuji-san told me, we are going locals-only, and it will be a treat. After a few beers, we entered this non-descript building that looked like a narrow, drab apartment building with no sign anywhere. In the tiny lobby we bought the little chits from an ancient vending machine that didn’t even have photos. Then we proceeded upstairs into this narrow, dark bustling corridor where we sat down at our individual booths (probably 12 total) that only had curtain partitions. The best bowl of soup ever, well make that best two bowls of soup ever. That ramen was so good, I ordered another.

I’m a huge fan of kimchee jigae, pho, guay teow nam sen yai moo, seafood laksa, and tom kha gai, and I’m very picky about those 5, but those two bowls of ramen were the best soups ever.

When I had surgery a couple of months ago, a friend brought over a meal that included this – https://www.onceuponachef.com/recipes/thai-chicken-rice-noodle-soup.html. It was SO good! My son has never been a fan of soup and he proclaimed it the best chicken soup he has ever tasted. I’d have to agree.

I know. It’s high calorie–but the good news is that it’s so rich, you can’t really drink more than a half-cup. When we make it for Tday, we usually serve it in small cups.

There are many soups that I don’t want/need a whole bowl of. Lobster bisque for instance. Love it and if it’s really delicious I’ll savor every bite…of a cup of it!

No, that’s impossible. The butter, cream and maple syrup are only 2668 calories via them for the entire recipe.

It clearly said per serving on the original recipe, and on the enlarged nutritional details. But I think you must be right. Someone goofed.

I thought the soup/broth lovers here would appreciate this
