@tonils location?
@Muffin71 If past practice holds, most of the SCHC notifications will come out in February. Sure, some students already have theirs, but itâs nowhere near a majority. Try not to stress about it (easier said than done, I know.)
@BigHerms , Charlotte NC, just 2 hours from Columbia. Crazy!
Can you get a scholarship from USC without being in honors?
@BigHerms Absolutely! Scholarships are stats based. Plenty of non-Honors College students are awarded merit money.
So I didnât get the letter yet, but I got an email congratulating me on my honors acceptance and an invitation to a reception⊠did anyone else get this?
@lsufan4301 Was it an email to attend âScholar Socialâ? If so, I donât think that has anything to do with honors college acceptance. Itâs jist a little reception the night before admitted students day (assuming you registered). I thought the same as you, but I looked it up and thatâs the conclusion I came to unfortunately. From what I saw, anyone who was offered a scholarship is invited
@doglover2001 I think itâs called Meet the South Carolina Honors College reception⊠it is the Friday night before admitted students day, but I never got one about a scholar social.
To anyone whoâs gotten the letter, has your portal updated?
Your letter sounds way more promising! Maybe your physical letter has been delayed. With the holidays thatâs definitely possible, so yay!
D received her letter earlier this week, received reception invite email today, portal has not updated.
Okay good! Hopefully my letter comes tomorrow⊠mustâve been a holiday delay. Thank you!
My D received her HC notification 12/24. Intended history major. Weâre in northern NJ. She goes to a large Catholic high school (1,600 enrolled), has 33 ACT, 98.3 unweighted (school doesnât do weighted) and 4s on her AP Environmental Science and AP English Comp, enrolled in 3 more this year. Sheâs in all honors program, but tbh, every school is so different itâs hard to tell if that really matters.Congrats to everyone on their acceptance - HC or not!!
What kinds of grades would be grounds for rescission? I was accepted with an 88 average and 34 ACT, but I had a 2.1 GPA this semester dual-enrolling at my local CC. Not that it matters, because my parents arenât paying for me to go away next yearâŠ
The letter didnât come today⊠stupid snail mail!
? Happy New Year
I hope 2019 brings great joy to everyone, especially to the ones who have worked hard to get to the point where they are at now! Good luck to everyone!
Hi all! Iâm currently a freshman at the Honors college and thought it might help to share some insight from last admission season! Admissions are sent out in two rounds, December and February. December is mainly top scholar acceptances and no rejections. February is the remaining acceptances mixed with rejections. I recieved my acceptance letter on February 17th of last year! My portal had updated before I recieved the actual letter in the mail, so checking in with the portal frequently can be a good way to check your acceptance. I am more than happy to answer any questions!
@carolinagirl3234 thank you for that insight. Very useful!
@carolinagirl3234 Can you tell us about your experience at USCHC so far? What made you choose to go there over other schools? Do you enjoy the community of honors students there? How have your classes been?
