Anyone else? My daughter hasn’t heard a peep from SC since December. Their online platform offers no information either. (I realize that these notifications are going out via mail). It’s just strange that they haven’t emailed, mailed, or reached out to her in any way since her acceptance.
Is anyone else still waiting, or should we assume that they aren’t interested in her?
Honors admissions decisions last year rolled out in two waves. The first was from mid December, the second around this time (mid February). So far as I know, there’s no correlation between decision result and when you got it. Look out for a letter or packet soon.
I imagine it’s a balancing act regarding how much outreach to do (if any) between application and decision. If a student receives an e-mail or two, or a “Visit Us Again” postcard, they might “read into that” that an acceptance is forthcoming. If they don’t hear anything at all, they may feel unwanted. Kind of a “no-win” situation.
As stated above, the HC releases decisions in two rounds. It’s unclear why some kids hear earlier; maybe it has to do with major, or state of residence, or something random. I know it’s hard to still be in suspense, but she will hear something soon.
I just got my honors college acceptance today. I almost gave up on it. If it’s any help, the letter is dated for Feb. 13th and was postmarked Feb. 15th
Does anyone have any idea of the time line for the OOS scholarship awards? MyDD was accepted into the Honors College back in Dec but we have not heard anything else about the other scholarships.
