Southern Ca transfer applying to UNC-CH, any similar stories out there?

Me: 27 year old father of 2. Army veteran, Infantry (11c, 18th/82nd.) Native American. Southern California beach local. Looking to transfer in as a 2nd year.

anyone that falls into any of those (or all of those) categories, tell me how you feel about the school. any regrets? any big bonuses? how is the housing and areas around? (parents) what is daycare like? how affordable is the area for a family living mostly on grants, scholarships, student loans and part-time jobs?

Excited to get back over to that side of the nation. I was raised here, but for me, it has lost it's luster.

Hi! I’m currently an Army Reservist in a deployment to the lovely country of Kuwait. I’m attempting to line up a transfer into UNC Chapel Hill for my return home, as I refuse to go back home to Pennsylvania. Good luck :)

not gonna line up for an active slot? ;)

Childcare is expensive here.

Much cheaper (both housing and childcare) if you are living in Alamance County and are willing to commute.

Haha, no thank you!

Unless I can pick up a tour in Germany!
