Spanish AP test and UCLA credit

I had posted a question earlier like this one, but I wanted to revise it:

If I want to get a minor in Spanish, should I take the Spanish AP test or to just take the placement test that UCLA offers?

To add, if you are a Spanish minor, what have you done and what would you recommend?

Take the AP test. It can skip you out of as much as Spanish 6 and it’ll give you (I believe) 8 units of course credit on top of that. If you’re an engineer, it’ll also get you out of a GE.
