Spanish proficiency exam

<p>So I plan to take Spanish non-intensively for the first year only. This is because I will be studying Japanese intensively for four years and I want to open up space for other classes. My ultimate goal for Spanish is to pass the language proficiency exam. I will be placing into the Advanced Spanish II course based off my SATII score. </p>

<p>How feasible would it be to pass the proficiency exam after a year of Spanish at Georgetown? How difficult is the exam?</p>

<p>Any personal experience or knowledge would be great!!!</p>

<p>hey, I’m a rising sophomore at georgetown and I took the spanish proficiency test this spring and passed fairly easily. I was placed into advanced I, but I only took advanced II in the spring and did not have difficulty preparing for it at all. I would just recommend reading bbc mundo or other spanish newspapers 2 weeks in advanced.</p>

<p>Our S is a rising sophomore and he completed intermediate Spanish 1 and 2 this past year which according to him, completes his language requirement. I am not aware of any other requirements he needs to meet regarding foreign language.</p>

<p>AvonHSDad: Is your son from the college? I believe they only need to complete the intermediate level of a foreign language. I’m from SFS, and we need to pass a language proficiency exam to graduate</p>

<p>120 - sorry I missed that you were SFS. Our S is in the College so the intermediate met his requirements and he is so glad to have that behind him! :D</p>
