the spark notes cruve is way harder then the real curve for bio. But are the querstions easier. Is your spark notes grade a good indication of where you are, or should you excpet to do better because of the harsh curve?

I didn't realize the sparknotes practice tests have harsher curves, but even if they do, questions are too easy to balance the score to match the real ones. So, people tend to get higher scores on sparknotes than on the real ones. It was like that for me at least..

spark notes is the worst source by far for the bio sat II

my bio score was over 100 points lower than what i got on the sparknotes tests

thats not good, i took a practice one on the net from sparknotes and scored a 550....

bump...................................

i thought spark notes was really random for bio, anyone else think so too?

in general what i've learned from using prep books for sat iis and ap's is that the tests are almost never close to the actual score. sometimes they're wildly lower, sometimes higher. so i would suggest just not thinking about the score you get on the practice test. it is probably not a reliable predictor at all. just use the tests to help you get better at taking tests. i used the sparknotes book a little bit for both ap and sat ii and found it helpful for a broad overview of major concepts. i got a 4 on Ap and 740 on the sat.

yeah i agree with gloaming. use the tests as a way of learning new info. the sparknotes tests are kind of random... but then again, so is the actual test at times. keep in mind though, the sparknotes questions seem to require much less thinking than do the actual ones... I always finished the sparks tests very quickly, but I really messed up my timing on the actual test, and there is no doubt that my score suffered as a result. (I had to omit like 5-6)
