Special School Circumstances, Please help!

This is more of a "help-me" thread than a "chance-me" thread, but I would really appreciate everyone's feedback. =]

I go to a small, private boarding school. We have very small classes, and a very small grade. My school does not believe in rank, weighting or AP classes. (Yep, that's right). I have great grades, great test scores, great ECs, etc. BUT no AP classes or AP tests. If my school offers none will this hurt me? I go to a fairly competitive school, and am taking certainly the most challenging classes. All of our classes for junior/senior year are structured at an AP level, but none are called AP classes.

Basically, I'm just wondering how I can make this clear to colleges? Will I be penalized? Will competitive schools understand that I am taking challenging classes (and doing very well in them)?

Thanks for reading, any help is very much appreciated.

if they are ap level, maybe you should sign up to take the tests. $50 test fee could save you $$$$ on a couple college classes.

my school charges $87/test

WACK.

If you go to a school in the Andove/Exeter/St. Paul's/Deerfield league, every class is AP level and it won't matter. It's always a good idea to take the AP tests though. My kids also went to some schools that did not have formal APs but they took the tests which were helpful for college credits or placement.

As for the cost Stephenn, that test will save you much more if it eliminates a college class.

Okay, thank you all for the helpful advice. I've been considering taking them on my own for a long time now, but this seals the deal.
