<p>I’m not sure what you’re trying to say here. Are you suggesting that Columbia emulate Michigan and Ohio State by “partak[ing] in childish pranks, name callings and other efforts in order to demonstrate their spirit?” </p>

<p>But if attending football games can serve as an approximate proxy for “school spirit,” then (adjusting for student body size) Michigan undergraduates have probably about 10X more “school spirit” than Columbia undergraduates.</p>

<p>By this “logic,” Columbia students should be less vocal about their school this year (unless, God forbid, they truly are “obnoxious snobs”).</p>

<p>nope … Columbia gets to be just as loud … now they have less schools to complain about the over the top school spirit; just the 3 schools ranked higher</p>
