Spring 14 Admit Studying Abroad in Fall

I got into a very prestigious public university in the communications/journalism department, however only as a Spring 2014 admit. They told me to find something to make my time effective in the fall, whether travel, enroll at a community college or work. I was thinking...study abroad?

There are many independently run study abroad, that you don't have to be into a certain university to attend. I want to study in Prague. I was wondering, do you think the credits would transfer. For a trip that costs about 14k, a university semester costs 20k, it's actually a little money relief if I headed abroad, but I would need the credits to transfer because I want to be on track to graduate in four years.

Has anyone ever done this or am I completely in a unique situation. I messaged the schools study abroad office about it. Is there any other things I should do to make this fall plan a real possibility?

Some universities’ spring admit conditions have limitations on where you can study during the fall. For example, in some cases, you may be limited to community colleges or special limited fall programs for spring admits at the specific universities. Check carefully on these limitations.

Yeah I saw majority of the study abroad programs require you to enroll in a certain amount of college semesters. I searched under gap year study abroad programs and came up with a more limited, but still multiple solid programs.
